Apple's Mysterious Facility in Sunnyvale, California

About a year ago, a citizen of Sunnyvale, California filed a noise complaint over these load sounds that sounded like car engines. Those complaints are likely linked to the activity that has been going on at these complexes of Apple. The company occupies 300,000 square feet of space which consists of seven buildings. It is believed that those complaints were due to the construction of these facilities. Last year, as part of the renovation, Apple built a ten-foot fence around the facilities for security and privacy which they had to get a permit for because it was not to code, it was too tall.  It is not, exactly ,clear what activities have taken place at these facilities, but it has been called an "open secret" and it is believed that Apple might have been planning to either experiment with its CarPlay software or to create and test a prototype for a self-driving car like Google has been doing. If this facility is for Apple to try to develop a prototype for a self-driving car, I think that these facilities are a waste of space. I wouldn't want self-driving cars to be put on the market, nor would I care to buy one, ever.  A self-driving car would probably seem more unsafe to me than a regular car because you wouldn't be able to control it. I feel like whatever Apple is doing at those facilities hasn't been announced yet because they might have created a product that is revolutionary and is something that they don't want people or their competitors to find out about. Although many people believe that Apple is creating a prototype for a car or something alike, do we really know that that is what that facility if for?
